Arnon's Portrait
A few days ago, I asked my cousin Carly if she would draw Chris and I a picture of our dog Arnon. She sent us what she's done so far and we were impressed! Carly, we can't wait to see the finished product :)
Day Off
We are so glad to have this Monday off work and school. Granted, Chris hasn't actually started his second semester yet, but has been doing research and reading to get ahead. I am thankful for this day off to ponder the works of MLK Jr., of course, but also to prepare for the week ahead. It will be a "short" week at work. There is lots to look forward to! Days are getting longer...but the sun is deceiving! It appears bright and beautiful outside, but it is currently -30 degrees! We also have a little frost built up on the inside of our living room windows. It is always nice to be in our home during the day, to enjoy the amount of time it is illuminated by the sun. Soon we'll be writing about the excessive amounts of light, instead of dark :)

Happy Things
I (Becky) had a weird day at work. Nothing was bad per say, but for some reason I felt off. When I got home, I made raisin bread, and Moroccan mint tea which instantly lifted me out from the fog I'd been in all afternoon. Now the smell of warm bread is circulating throughout our home, and the sight of my stout, cheery teapot makes me smile. We are so blessed. I feel the continuous hand of God in my life. Thankful for little, happy things!

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year from the Last Frontier! We are so happy to be living in Alaska these days, 5 months have FLOWN by fast! So much has happened in our lives since we arrived in Fairbanks on August 1st. We found a place to live right away, had our car winterized, and have already been to the lower 48 to visit family for the holidays. Days are now getting longer, and we are excited about the new year and all of the adventures that lie ahead. I don't think we will be able to post everything we've done in one go, but hope that with the new year, our entries will be more frequent. C & B
